Meta Faces Criticism After Launch of Hyper-Realistic AI Image Generator
The social media company is now receiving serious criticism from users owing to the release of Muse Image, a text-to-image tool that allows users to create hyper-realistic images featuring other people’s faces using only their public Instagram handles. The new technology has been tagged as a "privacy landmine" that can easily be exploited to produce non-consensual manipulated images. It is good to know that although the tool, currently available in the United States through Instagram, WhatsApp, and Meta AI app, is switched ON by default in public accounts, users have the option to disable it from using their photos and reels by switching OFF the "Allow people to reuse your content" setting under "Sharing and Reuse" in Instagram.
